iRiver DP250

iRiver has introduced its first digital audio player in its Siren brand, which was announced earlier this year. The player is called the DP250-a potential competitor to the Sony NWZ-B100 MP3 Player.

Some of the Features with a difference in this device are:-
  • It will be available in a 1GB and 2GB storage capacity
  • It includes an FM tuner and a transmitter to broadcast your audio to any FM receiver - a really handy feature.
  • The voice recording functionality appears to makes it a highly competent player.
  • The device is capable of 18 hours of continuous audio playback.
  • Featuring a 400mW mono built-in speaker, you can enjoy listening to songs that deliver high quality music.

Some changes which i would love to have in this player are

  • The device should be equipped with some what bigger display.
  • Some work is required on the size specification to make in look different.
  • There should be some modification in display panel, i believe companies must give away with this traditional looking panels. Think about having a display similar to what iPod or maybe iPhone are offering.
  • Another feature which could have made a difference is Wi-Fi support with the capability of downloading music from music stores.

iRiver DP250 DAP will carry a price tag of $85 (approx. Rs. 3,400) for a 1GB version and $120 (approx. Rs. 4,800) for 2GB.
